Kathryn’s Top Picks: Mammoth Creek Cabin

While Mammoth Creek is a favorite spot for snow lovers in the fall and winter, our family loves to stay at Mammoth Creek to get a true outdoors experience in the spring and summer! With a creek running through the backyard and hammocks and tire swings around the cabin, there is no better way to enjoy the refreshing mountain air.

Thing to do: Fishing
Our favorite thing to do at this property is go fishing. Mammoth Creek is stocked with trout and there are many good fishing spots along our property. Even the kids have had lots of success catching our dinner! Purchase your Utah fishing license online.

Restaurant: Parowan Cafe
When we need a change from fish and grilling, one of our favorite restaurants is the Parowan Cafe. While it’s a seemingly unassuming little diner, the Parowan Cafe serves some of our favorite comfort foods – be sure to try their delicious rolls and their selection of baked treats!

Daytrip: Zion National Park
Apart from the trails and walks that we frequent around the property, you can always take your pick from the many, many famous hikes and National Parks for a day out. One of our family’s favorite day hikes is the Subway hike in Zion National Park. For years our boys would lead a group through the hike every summer. Be prepared, this hike features swimming, rappelling, and scrambling over large boulders, but your hard work is rewarded with some of the most stunning views of Utah’s slot canyons. Find out more about this hike and get a permit at the National Park Service website.

Property Feature: Back Porch
There is nothing better than to relax in the cool summer evenings around a warm camp fire, making s’mores with the kids! Have a sit in the hammocks and swings along the back porch and listen to the crickets and babbling creek – there is nothing better!
