One of our favorite family traditions is to spend the 4th of July in Brian Head, Utah. This year, our mountain suffered from an intense forest fire, but thankfully fire fighters were able to manage it so we could keep our tradition going! We were all able to gather together for the holiday and then the parents headed out so Grandma and Grandpa could host the grandkids for Cousins Camp. We squeezed in so many fun activities that are perfect for summer – whether you’re headed to Brian Head or anywhere else this summer!
Brian Head is famous for its ATV trails and the kids were over the moon at the prospect of riding in an ATV! Brian Head Outdoor Adventures had ATVs large enough for our group of 9 kids and 3 adults and made us feel safe taking all those kids on the trails. We took in spectacular views and have memories of our little adventure to last a lifetime!
Our family have been patrons of the Utah Shakespeare Festival for decades and are now enjoying passing down the tradition to the next generation. While the older kids enjoyed several musicals and plays, we took the whole gang to the Green Show for a laugh and the famous tarts! Even the youngest ones had a great time watching the show and, of course, perusing the gift shop!
Parks, parks, and more parks! These kids will never get tired of parks and in addition to the play structure we built on our property, we made it a habit to let the kids loose in local parks in Brian Head, Parowan, and Cedar City!
One thing that we love to do year round is to give our children and grandchildren the opportunity to serve our community. Our act of service this summer was to personally thank our hard working fire fighters and give them some treats to show our appreciation! The kids loved seeing the fire trucks and meeting the firefighters!
